Bribe charge over Waqf report: Priyank Kharge to approach Home Minister seeking probe into allegations against Vijayendra

The BJP on Monday called for a CBI probe into allegations made by Karnataka Minister Priyank KhargeKhargeKharge regarding a Rs 150 crore "bribe" offer by State BJP Chief BY Vijayendra to former Minority Commission chairperson Anwar Manippadi.

Kharge had raised the accusation in the Karnataka Assembly last Thursday, claiming that Vijayendra, the Shikaripura BJP MLA, attempted to bribe Manippadi to suppress the issue of Waqf land encroachment.

The BJP rejected the claims outright, with Vijayendra vehemently denying any wrongdoing. He said the allegation was "baseless" and demanded a formal enquiry, challenging Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to order a CBI probe into the matter. Vijayendra also called for an apology from Kharge, accusing him of making false claims without evidence.
