Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, June 6, to unveil a slew of key infrastructure and development projects worth more than Rs 46,000 crore in Katra. The visit, his first to the Union Territory following Operation Sindoor, comes amid heightened security across the region.

The major highlight of the visit is the formal inauguration of the Chenab and Anji bridges— the two much-awaited engineering marvels. The Prime Minister will also dedicate Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project to the nation.

The Chenab Bridge, situated at the height of 359 metres above the river, holds the record as the world’s highest railway arch bridge. Spanning 1,315 metres, this steel structure has been designed to endure extreme seismic and wind conditions. In tandem, the Anji Bridge stands out as India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge built in treacherous terrain.
