A special court on Saturday granted bail to suspended Jharkhand cadre IAS officer Pooja Singhal in connection with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The court granted bail with conditions to the IAS officer. The court asked her to furnish two surety bonds of Rs 2 lakh each and to surrender her passport.
Singhal’s lawyer confirmed the news of her bail decision which came after two days of deliberations.
The Enforcement directorate (ED) arrested Pooja Singhal on May 11, 2022. She has been under probe for her alleged involvement in a money laundering case linked to corruption in the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
