President Murmu Feeds 'Dahi-Cheeni' To FM Nirmala Sitharaman Ahead Of Budget 2025 | Watch

President Droupadi Murmu offered 'dahi-cheeni' (curd-sugar), considered auspicious, to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman as she arrived at the Rashtrapati Bhavan before presenting her record eighth consecutive Budget on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, the Finance Minister posed with a tablet wrapped in a 'bahi khata'-styled pouch carrying the Budget documents outside the Finance Ministry.

"Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Smt Nirmala Sitharaman along with Minister of State for Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan before presenting the Union Budget. The President expressed best wishes to the Union Finance Minister and her team for the presentation of budget," the President's office said in a post on X.
