The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday (April 16, 2025) searched the premises of online travel booking portal EaseMyTrip’s co-founder Nishant Pitti in connection with the money laundering case linked to the alleged Mahadev online betting app scam of Chhattisgarh, an ED official said.

The raids at Mr. Pitti’s office and residence in Delhi-NCR were part of the raids conducted by the agency in “over 53 locations” in the country, the official said, adding that the searches pertained to tracking the movement of the proceeds of crime (POC) generated from the Mahadev betting app. The ED has earlier claimed that its probe revealed the involvement of several top politicians and bureaucrats from Chhattisgarh and that the POCs were about ₹6,000 crore in the case.

The locations the ED teams covered in the latest raid included Mumbai, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Chennai and Sambalpur in Odisha besides Delhi-NCR, but none in Chhattisgarh, the official added. The agency is now probing if the POCs generated by the Mahadev App and related platforms travelled through the share markets.
