Saudi Crown Prince Congratulates Trump, Vows $600 Billion Trade, Investment

US-Saudi relations: Saudi Arabia and the United States are long-time allies, but the relationship between the two nations soured during former President Joe Biden’s tenure. However, with Donald Trump coming back to power, the oil-rich kingdom has taken the first step towards rekindling the US-Saudi friendship, with Crown PrincePrincePrince Mohammed bin Salman pledging $600 billion worth in investments in the US over the next four years.

According to a statement by Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry, Crown Prince Salman spoke to Donald Trump over the phone on Wednesday and congratulated on becoming the 47th President of the United States.

During the call with Trump, the Prince, considered as the de factor ruler of the desert nation, also passed on congratulations from his father, King Salman, and said that his country would “expand its investment and trade with the United States to $600 billion over four years, and potentially beyond that”, the statement said.
