Son arrested for killing father

A 62-year-old man was stabbed to death by his son at Cheppad near Haripad on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Soman Pillai of Cheppad. The police on Friday arrested his son Arun in connection with the murder. According to the police, Arun stabbed his father over a drunken brawl around 10.30 p.m. Soman was brought to the Taluk Hospital, Haripad in the night but was declared dead. Officials said that Arun had confessed to killing his father.
